Our Chestnut Tree

If you remember back about a month ago I was thrilled to have created a beautiful and secluded spot under our chestnut tree at our new house. This spot was our new circle for ceremony. I was thrilled with the results and couldn't wait for the roses to climb up over the trellis'.
(You can see the post and picture here)

Well today when the kids headed put for recess they discovered that half the tree had blown over. It took out one of the wood trellis' (beyond repair) as well as the table we put our medicines on. One of the bushes that give us a fair amount of privacy from the street had the tree over it.

Our firekeeper will come a bit early tomorrow with his saw to clear the fallen tree. Then I will have a quick repair of the circle and our privacy.

Even when done it will not be the same. If there is but one good thing (and there always is) it would be that the roses will get more sun. I didn't realize how much shade we got till after I planted. I was beginning to worry. That is a worry I can let go of now. Amazingly the tree fell around the roses.

I also got the waistband and elastic on Indy's regalia (powwow clothes). He helped me sew. He does this by sitting on my lap with a hand on my hand as I guide the material. He also holds down the reverse button.
