A QUESTION FOR READERS

When we move we will have a schoolroom / playroom. I am looking for suggestions on your favorite must haves in your school rooms. I want a nice place to work, comfortable place to read. Good organizing system for books, papers and supplies and somewhere to organize toys so they are out of the way during school time, plus accessible toy storage for Indy. As we will be on budget I would be looking to convert and improve second had furniture and build stuff too.
Thanks ahead of time for your ideas.

  1. IKEA!! When we moved and finally had some space the first thing I bought was the IKEA PAX cupboards, mine are 8 feet tall and super deep. Best thing is you can set them up for totes to pull in and out, shelves, whatever you want!! All our stuff fits in well, close the doors and hides all away.

  2. When we were looking at houses, we saw one that had windowseats with storage built in. I thought that was brilliant, and have always wanted one, but our place has radiators under every window, and my husband thinks blocking the heat would be a waste of money, so they remain a fond wish here. But if they work in your new place, I think they're awesome for toy storage!

  3. A white board, the bigger the better. We use ours every day, even on weekends the kids draw on it.
