Are You OK with a
These are graphs from the site Society for Quality Education - Sunshine on Ontario Schools. The graphs show Ontario's data for grade 3 equivalency. I looked up for my local board (Limestone DSB). So you are looking at Limestone's school board, public English, public French, catholic English, catholic French and then Provincial. It doesn't look good for any of them, but it really makes you wonder about what is wrong in the Public system. And the Limestone board is not looking good on these charts. When I pulled my kids out of PS, Ko-Ko was 8 yrs old, half way through grade 2 (so a yr behind), unable to read yet with a genius level IQ (the schoolboard had her tested cuz they were worried). They were offering me a program to help her read in grade 5...I just had to keep her in PS for it. Yeah Right. Today we are in our third year of Homeschooling. (first yr was half a yr), she is in grade 5 (so she got back the lost grade) and can read. Anyway here are those charts. Sorry I couldn't put them on the page directly. If you were to letter grade this, the Limestone DSB has C's & D's, as does public English. Public French has a C's and a B.
